You can now purchase Otogo Shochu online

Traditionally Kuma Shochu has been enjoyed in the following ways:
- On the Rocks: Slowly pour the Otogo Shochu over an ice cube. This produces a clear, refreshing sensation.
- With Water and Ice (“Mizu-wari Shochu”): Pour water (preferably soft water) into a glass first, followed by the Otogo Shochu, the ratio of Otogo Shochu to water that you like.
- With Hot Water (“Oyu-wari”): Pour the Otogo Shochu in after first pouring in the hot water and enjoy the complex aroma.
-Hot (“Kan” shochu): Pour straight Otogo Shochu or Otogo Shochu and water into a glass, and warm it inside a vessel full of hot water (“Atsukan‟) or over direct heat (“Jikikan‟). This produces a sweet and smooth taste. Make sure not to overheat the Otogo Shochu.

Nowadays the locals take Otogo Shochu with a splash of soda water on the rocks (a “highball”).

It can also be enjoyed with tonic or other mixer, and perhaps with a slice of lemon,

Otogo Shochu, when enjoyed responsibly, is also suitable for vegans and those on carb-controlled diets.

Otogo Shochu will retain its flavours and aromas over long periods, even after the bottle has been opened.
